Day 4 Updates

Greetings from Resource Study Hall!

We hope you are having a productive week.

This week in our Study Hall section we went over the Sentence Writing Strategy Part II – Compound Sentences.  Students learned how to correctly put simple sentences together to create compound sentences using commas and coordinating conjunctions, or semicolons.

As the end of the semester approaches and students start taking their final exams, we take this opportunity to remind all of our students to make use of the study skills and test taking strategies that we have reviewed in class… don’t forget PIRATES!  All of these strategies are posted under the STUDENTS link above.  You can also come by the Resource office to get strategies handouts posted on our bulletin board.

Best of luck in your exams!

Sincerely,

The ISP Resource Team.

What are your study habits?

With semester exams approaching, we might be experiencing some anxiety, stress, excitement, all of the above, or none of the above.  Let’s take some time to share what works for us, what doesn’t work, or just simply how we prepare.

Resource students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade also got an opportunity to reflect on their favorite teachers.  While all students stated that they have many great teachers, they picked a few who stood out in their minds.  As you will see below,  some of the teachers selected by our students taught them during previous years.  We would like to extend a special thank you to the following individuals who helped us gather all the students: Ms. Velarde, Ms. Turner, Ms. Preciado, Ms. Narvaez, Mr. Donauer, Ms. Skudlarek, Ms. Stargardter, Mr. Scot, and Ms. Franklin.

3rd Grade

Top: Ms. Preciado and Ms. Rodriguez. Botton: Ms. Narvaez and Ms. Palencia.

Gus feels that Ms. Rodriguez is “very fun and lets us do special activities.”

Moises likes Ms. Ana because he gets to “play games, do activities, sentences…“, and Ms. Narvaes “teaches good things and games“.

4th Grade
